We strive to empower participants to rise to new heights by rebuilding in them a sense of value, self worth and confidence in overcoming obstacles in their lives through person-centered treatment, cognitive behavioral strategies, and strength-based techniques.

Hinds' Feet Counseling is licensed by the Division of Behavioral Health Services as a Substance Use Disorder Treatement Provider in accordance with Section 6 CCR 1008-1, Colorado Code of Regulations and is licensced for the following services:
Outpatient Treatement:

Offender Education & Treatment (Non-DUI)
Enhanced Outpatient Treatment
Offender Education & Treatment (Non-DUI)



Experiential Education

Experiences that are dynamic, challenging, and transferable to every day life situations
Participants will:
 
  •      develop an alternative perception of their environment.
  •      develop life-management skills to foster a crime and substance free lifestyle.
  •      evaluate alternatives and measure them against former self-defeating behavioral patterns.
  •      identify obstacles that could interfere with new approach to life.


  • Vocational and Life Skills Training

    Today's employers recognize a lack of basic skills, higher order thinking skills and affective skills in potential employees. The inability to find steady employment often results in regression due to a technical violation, a return to drugs and alcohol, or re-offending behavior.

    Hinds’ Feet's creative and innovative programs provide hands-on-training, easily transferable to the workplace.



    In an environment that is physically and emotionally safe, learning will include:

     
  •     How to shop carefully, cook creatively and economically
  •     How to prepare a budget and maintain a saving and checking accounts
  •     How to write a resume, apply for a job, and interview effectively
  •     How to develop a healthy leisure lifestyle
  •     Positive social skill development
  •     Giving back to the community through service projects


  • Pro-social Activities

    It is through positive leisure skills that people can begin to learn how to express themselves in a healthier way. They begin to learn useful coping skills that can help them to maintining a substance free lifestyle, increase low-self esteem, manage depression, anger, anxiety and other mental health issues.

    Activities include: pPainting, drawing, ceramics, cards and jewlery design, and hiking in various locations in Colorado Springs.
